The charming tourism spots in west part of Bali


Probably most of tourists who have visit Bali only familiar with tourism spots around Kuta, Nusa dua and other spots in East part of the island. Only several of the fabulous place in West Bali are well known like Tanah Lot temple and several spots around the middle of Tabanan regency. Actualy, there are many tourism spot in West part of Tabanan until Jembrana regency. Bellow are some of the mentioned spots.

Balian Beach
It is located in Lalanglinggah village, Selemadeg Barat sub-district, the West Part of Tabanan regency, which is a beautiful beach especially for those who love surfing. Lie down closely with the main road from Denpasar to Jembrana regency. It is around 60 kilometers or about 1,5 hours trip from Ngurah Rai Airport by car.

It is a black sandy beach and that probably the reason why this beach is not familiar for travelers. But, Balian beach has beautiful  scene surrounding. The entrance fee are IDR 2.000 for motorbike and IDR 5.000 for car. Along the way to the beach from the main road, you will discover several guest houses and villas for rent in very affordable cost. Around the beach you could find several restourants and bars which are ready to serve the visitors. Mostly sea food is the main menu offered around there.

The best time to enjoy the splendor of this beach is in the afternoon until the sunset time. Don’t forget to take your camera with you to perpetuate the special momment which you could not find in the other beach.

In the night, there are several ‘warung’ along the beach. And generally there are several visitors who stage a small party in a small group. Having some drink while enjoy the night sight of the beach accompanied with some nice musics.

Soka Beach
Soka beach is located in Antap village, Selemadeg Distric and Tabanan Regency as well. This tourism spot is lie down on the left side of the main road from Denpasar to Gilimanuk. It is about 65 kilimeters from ngurah Rai Airport.

As well as Balian Beach, Soka Beach has beautiful surrounding. On the East you will see Mount Agung and on the West you will discover coconut plantation and the overlay of ricefield with cluster of hills. Around this beach, there is a cave with thousands of swallow inside named Bulung Daya cave.

On the West part of the beach there is a big rock with around 3 meters heigth called ‘Payuk Kebo Iwa’. Payuk mean pan for cooking rice and Kebo Iwa is a mythological name of a Balinese young man with big body and has unbeatable magical power in Majapahit Kingdom era. Depend on the local story, Kebo Iwa use soka beach as his kitchen to cook his food.

There is a Temple named Pura Luhur Serijong located few minutes from this beach. Which was established by Dhang Hyang Nirartha in 16 century consecutive with Rambut Siwi Temple and Tanah Lot temple. You could enjoy the charming scene while learning about Balinese culture and history by visiting Soka beach.

Pekutatan Beach
Pekutatan Beach is located in Jembarana Regency, an evolving tourism spots in the West Part of Bali. Along this beach there are many Hotels and villas established to support the expansion of this area as one of the main tourism spot in Bali. This beach was quite famous among the overseas visitors as well as Medewi beach. Many Bali travel agents took this beach into their travel package and promote it to their customers.

Medewi Beach
Medewi beach is one of the famous tourism spot in Jembrana regency. Around 3 kilometers Westword from Pekutatan Beach. It is a rocky beach with good waves for surfing. You can discover many traditional boats fall in lines along the west part of this beach. Cheap accommodation are offered around Medewi beach from hotels, restaurants and bars.

Rambut Siwi Temple
Rambut Siwi Temple is one of Balinese temple which was established by the Holyone Dhang Hyang Nirartha. It is located in Yehembang Kangin village, Mendoyo District, Jembrana Regency. It is about 5 kilometers westword from medewi beach. There are small number of visitors who are visiting this Temple each year. But the local Government has prepared this Temple as one of tourism spot in Jembrana Regency.
Years ago, there is a painting galery established around the temple to support the expansion of this temple as a tourism spot, which was led by local well known painter I Ketut Astina. But now the galery was closed and the Temple was well renovated. There is a wide parking area down the Temple and a ‘wantilan’ as a stage to held tradional dancing show.

Perancak Beach
Perancak is actualy a name of a village which is lie down near the beach on the South part of Jembrana, and the beach called Perancak beach. It is a white sandy beach which is actually a traditional fishing harbor. If you visit this beach you will discover many traditional boats along the beach.

In Perancak village you can find the famouse Perancak Temple as well. And now, you can find many villas established around the beach as well as several tourism accommodation.

National West Bali Park
Located on the west end of Bali Island with 77.000 hectare wide which is in Jembrana and Singaraja Regency. This park is the original habitat of around 160 species of animals and plants. Here is the conservation of almost extinct Bali’s bird Jalak Bali. If you love to explore wild nature life, this park is the best destination in Bali Island.
